Charlotte Philogene
Integrative Counsellor and Creative Arts Therapist
Charlotte has been practising as a counsellor since 2010 and is a qualified Creative Arts Therapist. She specialises in working with young people in adoption, foster care with emotional behavioural difficulties and attachment disorder and is equally experienced with working with adults. Her experience is varied from working in Chandos House drug and rehabilitation centre in Bristol to facilitating a Therapeutic Art Group in an all women’s prison working with diagnosed personality disorder. Charlotte predominantly works creatively using Art, voice, breath, narrative and movement, and this is where her passion lies. Her integrative training allows her to adapt to the client’s individual needs. Some of the theoretical approaches Charlotte draws upon are: Person Centred, Transactional Analysis, Transpersonal and the creative use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Fundamentally she works within the relationship. Prior to becoming a therapist Charlotte worked as a family support worker working with young people and their families in foster care and she has facilitated parent’s plus training. This experience has inspired her to work with young people and parents offering bespoke packages which suites the families individual needs. Charlotte works with young people, adults and families working with a range of issues from anxiety and depression, self harm, relationship/ family breakdown, bereavement, identity crisis, sexuality, domestic abuse, self esteem, body image, autism, ADHD, work and education related issues, suicidal ideology, abuse and traumatic life events. Being a working mother of four, Charlotte has a genuine empathy and passion for the work that she does. She is warm, genuine, committed and thinks outside the box. These are qualities that are apparent in her work. Outside of her work she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, yoga, painting and drawing and being in nature.
