Professional Training & Workshops in Equine Facilitated Therapy

Whether you’re looking to develop your skills as an equine facilitated practitioner or explore how horses can enhance your existing therapeutic or coaching practice, our professional training programmes offer comprehensive, accredited pathways. We deliver foundation courses in the IEFPL (Institute for Equine Facilitated Practice and Learning) methodology, introductory workshops for those new to equine therapy.

We also provide specialised training for mental health professionals, coaches, and educators. All our courses combine theoretical knowledge with hands-on experiential learning, taught by our experienced team of certified practitioners in a supportive, nature-based setting.

Attachment & Repair

This course explores attachment theory through a neuroscience lens, revealing how early relational patterns shape the nervous system, behaviour, and emotional responses. Using experiential practices and equine interaction, participants learn how rupture and repair restore safety, trust, and connection. Emotional awareness and energetic attunement support healthier relationships with self and others.

Neuroscience of Natural Horsemanship

Grounded in modern neuroscience, this course explores how horses naturally co-regulate with the human nervous system. Participants learn how presence, breath, intention, and emotional state influence connection and communication. By understanding brain–body pathways and energetic signalling, humans develop calmer leadership, clearer boundaries, and deeper, more authentic partnerships with horses.

Equine Facilitated Coaching

This course blends neuroscience, coaching psychology, and equine wisdom to support meaningful personal and professional change. Horses respond directly to nervous system states, emotional congruence, and energetic clarity, offering immediate feedback. Participants learn how embodied awareness, regulation, and reflective coaching conversations activate insight, resilience, and sustainable behavioural transformation.

Equine Facilitated Learning

Equine Facilitated Learning uses experiential activities with horses to engage the brain, body, and emotions simultaneously. Drawing on neuroscience principles such as neuroplasticity and somatic learning, participants develop self-awareness, communication, and collaboration skills. The horses’ sensitivity to emotional and energetic shifts creates powerful learning moments that integrate cognition with felt experience.

Seasonal Wellbeing through Nature

This course explores how seasonal rhythms influence the nervous system, emotional balance, and energy levels. Grounded in neuroscience and nature-based practices, participants learn to attune to natural cycles to support regulation, rest, and renewal. Time in nature enhances sensory integration, reduces stress, and fosters a deeper emotional and energetic sense of wellbeing.

Trauma & Compassion Fatigue

Focusing on the neuroscience of trauma and chronic stress, this course examines how compassion fatigue impacts the nervous system, emotions, and energy reserves. Participants learn to recognise signs of overload and dysregulation while developing tools for repair, resourcing, and self-compassion. Somatic and relational practices support sustainable care without depletion.

Empowering Change, Building Resilience

This course explores how change occurs at a neurological, emotional, and energetic level. By understanding stress responses, neuroplasticity, and embodied resilience, participants learn how to navigate challenge with greater flexibility and confidence. Experiential practices strengthen nervous system capacity, emotional agency, and inner resources, empowering lasting, self-directed change.

Dysregulation, Regulation & Resourcing

Grounded in neuroscience, this course explores how the nervous system moves between dysregulation and regulation. Participants learn practical tools for recognising stress patterns, restoring balance, and building internal and external resources. Emotional awareness and energetic practices support safety, grounding, and resilience, enabling greater capacity to respond rather than react.
