The Equine Therapy Center has a growing team of affiliated non-equine counsellors and psychotherapists who work either as part of an equine assisted therapy (EAT) programme, or completely separately under their own specialisation.
We can offer individual 1-2-1 counselling that will enable a person to talk about their problems and feelings in a confidential, safe and secure environment.
Our counsellors are trained to be empathetic listeners, non-judgemental and open. They can help you deal with any negative thoughts and feelings you have by helping you to overcome issues that are causing you emotional pain and distress. The counsellor is alongside you, there to support you, respect your views, help to provide insight and understanding of your problems. During your counselling you will be encouraged to explore your feelings and emotions, at a pace that works for you.
You may also be offered creative arts or creative play therapy. Play and creative therapies can be helpful in a range of different situations where the client is having difficulty expressing themselves or finding the words to express the issues they are dealing with. This may be the case with clients who suffer with anxiety, stress, abuse, loss, bereavement, adoption and trauma.
Following the success of our counselling and psychotherapy programme, we are now launching The Therapy Center Ltd – a sister company to the Equine Therapy Center Ltd, which will also be based at Avening Park – please keep a watch out for the new website http://thetherapy.center, which will be coming soon.
