We define natural horsemanship as “the care, training and riding of horses in harmony with their natural behaviour, diet, movement and physical being.”
Our natural horsemanship programme teaches the following key principles:
Horse psychology and social systems (ethology)
Herd behaviour and habitats
Natural breeding and weaning practices
The importance of a natural and balanced diet
Good hoof care. Our horses are all barefoot trimmed (no metal horse shoes)
Appropriate veterinary treatment
Training/educating the horse in a compassionate, respectful way
Learning to listen to the horse, and riding to ensure mutual enjoyment
If you want to understand how horses really work, how they communicate, how they emote, their expressions and how to ride in true harmony, please get in contact, and look out for our next course in the Neuroscience of Natural Horsemanship
