An Introduction to Attachment Theory
29th March 2019,29th March 2019
9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Avening Park, Westend
A unique one-day workshop exploring Attachment Theory in conjunction with Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy
This workshop has been designed for everyone who has an interest in attachment theory, styles and disorders, fostering, adoption, mental health and emotional well-being.
Current thinking in neuroscience suggests that in our initial stages of development, whilst the brain is still forming and our attachment style is being created, culture, language, climate, nutrition and parents shape each of our brains in a very unique way.
In good times and with “parents” who have an awareness of how to encourage and nurture the young child, this early brain building will serve the child well throughout life.
However when factors are not so favourable, the brain that is sculpted in ways that have assisted the child in surviving childhood, may become maladaptive later in life.
During the day you will be provided with knowledge which will equip you with an understanding of:
- Attachment Theory and Styles
- Arousal Scale and Awareness of Self
- Regulation and Key Attachment styles
- What do different Attachment Styles need
You will also experience first hand what it is like to do some basic Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy exercises – it’s an experiential day!
Tickets are available for this event via eventbrite.
